Dental Implant in Eugene, OR
At one time, the only options for people with missing teeth were a bridge or dentures, but thanks to advanced technology, dental implants offer a permanent solution for restoring your smile and confidence.
Dental implants are posts that are surgically placed in the jawbone. They serve as anchors for the attachment of replacement teeth, crowns, and partial or full dentures. At 360 Dental, we recommend dental implants to our patients who don’t want to deal with the inconvenience of traditional bridges or dentures. Implants are very durable, and because they are not removable there is no need for denture adhesives to keep your teeth in place.
Dental implants look, feel, and function just like natural teeth. Besides being comfortable and cosmetically appealing, dental implants are the most stable and longest-lasting treatment for tooth replacement.
Am I a Candidate for Tooth Implants?
Dental implants are not for everyone. You must have healthy gums and bones to support the implant. To evaluate the structures of your teeth and determine if you are a candidate for dental implants, Dr. Binder uses 3D cone beam imaging, which produces the same kind of high quality images as a CT scanner but with less radiation. This imaging technique creates panoramic views of your entire mouth, allowing Dr. Binder to see the relationships between bones, teeth, and other structures.
If you are a candidate for a dental implant, Dr. Binder will also use the 3D scan to help plan your treatment. He will review the procedure with you, answering all of your questions and ensuring you understand post-operative care.
Dental Implants Procedure
Dental implants typically require a series of appointments over several months to complete:
- First, Dr. Binder will surgically place the implant directly into the jawbone. Afterwards, your bone has to fuse with the implant, which may take from 3 to 6 six months.
- Once the healing is complete, Dr. Binder will attach your crown, bridge, or denture to the dental implant to form your beautiful new smile.
Dr. Binder has years of experience performing dental implants. As a member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, he stays up-to-date with the latest advancements in implants so he can provide the best possible outcomes for his patients.
